Quasistatic Evolution in Debonding Problems via Capacitary Methods
We discuss quasistatic evolution processes for capacitary measures and shapes in order to model debonding membranes. Minimizing movements as well as rate independent processes are investigated and some models are described together with a series of open problems.
متن کاملA Young Measure Approach to Quasistatic Evolution for a Class of Material Models with Nonconvex Elastic Energies
Rate-independent evolution for material models with nonconvex elastic energies is studied without any spatial regularization of the inner variable; due to lack of convexity, the model is developed in the framework of Young measures. An existence result for the quasistatic evolution is obtained in terms of compatible systems of Young measures. We also show as this result can be equivalently refo...
متن کاملShape flows for spectral optimization problems
We consider a general formulation of gradient flow evolution for problems whose natural framework is the one of metric spaces. The applications we deal with are concerned with the evolution of capacitary measures with respect to the γ-convergence dissipation distance and with the evolution of domains in spectral optimization problems. متن کاملQuasistatic crack evolution for a cohesive zone model with different response to loading and unloading: a Young measures approach
Abstract. A new approach to irreversible quasistatic fracture growth is given, by means of Young measures. The study concerns a cohesive zone model with prescribed crack path, when the material gives different responses to loading and unloading phases. In the particular situation of constant unloading response, the result contained in [6] is recovered. In this case, the convergence of the discr...
متن کاملCapacitary Measures for Completely Monotone Kernels via Singular Control
We give a singular control approach to the problem of minimizing an energy functional for measures with given total mass on a compact real interval, when energy is defined in terms of a completely monotone kernel. This problem occurs both in potential theory and when looking for optimal financial order execution strategies under transient price impact. In our setup, measures or order execution ...
